During the 2005/2006 season the project "Kids meet Classic" was launched. It is primarily directed at all types of schools of the region with the purpose of encouraging children's artistic activity and to interest them in music appropriate for their age. In close collaboration with local music teachers specific programs for all age groups were developed. The selection of topics ranges from "Instruments of the Orchestra", "Dance in the Change of Time" or "History of Scores," and many other program concepts.
The overwhelmingly positive response to the concerts facilitated the decision to continue and extend the project. This is rendered possible with the support and the means provided by the Friends of the Vogtland Philharmonic Orchestra.
