The Vogtland Philharmonie Greiz / Reichenbach was founded in 1992. This was an unique cross-border fusion of the free states of Saxony and Thuringia, the administrative districts of Greiz and Vogtland and the cities Greiz and Reichenbach. The Orchestra continues the centuries old tradition of music in the Vogtland region with its wide-ranging repertoire at highest level.
